COMM|VEDA Consulting specializes in curating data and knowledge in easily digestible formats for a variety of audiences, whether the material is for internal purposes or for public consumption. COMM|VEDA Consulting can also help your organization manage complex, large-scale initiatives by providing project management support. Below is a sample of just a few of the projects we've led:
RESEARCH REPORT
In partnership with the Funders' Collaborative on Youth Organizing, COMM|VEDA Consulting drafted a report, Transforming Young People and Communities: New Findings on the Impact of Youth Organizing, summarizing the ways in which young people are impacted by their involvement in organizing. The report synthesized existing research from multiple sources to create an accessible document for funders, practitioners, and policymakers.
LANDSCAPE SCAN
Working with Foundation Center and EPIC-Africa, COMM|VEDA Consulting conducted a scan to understand the landscape of data on civil society organizations in Africa. The project involved interviews with stakeholders across the Continent, as well as desk research analyzing the strengths and weakness of existing databases, to inform the development of a new online index of civil society organizations.
WEB PORTAL
While at Foundation Center, Seema oversaw the development of BMAfunders.org, supported through a grant from Open Society Foundations' Campaign for Black Male Achievement. This interactive web portal aggregates, synthesizes, and curates data and information about how philanthropy is working to improve life outcomes for Black men and boys. The portal includes a data visualization showing which grants are going where, a repository of research reports, and a compilation of key organizations in the field, among other resources. The site averages more than 2,000 visitors monthly and is recognized as a go-to resource in the field. This project is an example of our ability to manage large, complex projects with many moving parts related to both design and content.
